Gift Guide For Pets
We created this gift guide for pets to help others because we realized how difficult it can be to find a gift for your furry friend. We got our first dog (Boss) a little over 2 years ago, and he has been the kindest, easiest dog. After such a nice time, we decided to get another dog to keep him company while my husband and I were at work or gone on dates. So we adopted Pepper. Holy crap we didn’t know what we were in for. She exhibits the exact opposite traits as him. We love her very much, but she took some getting used to.
We didn’t have any flip-flops for a while because she chewed them all up. The same thing happened with all the toys we’d get her. And she’s much more overbearing with her loving and cuddling; she has no sense of personal space. She was such an adjustment because Boss never cared for toys or chewed anything up (he’d just poop in the house sometimes cause for two years he was raised outside.
This is to say they’re opposites and when their birthdays come along, they get different things based on their personalities. Boss loves playing with dogs in dog parks, but Pepper prefers the house. Pepper is very food motivated but Boss couldn’t care less. Pepper will work her way anywhere, whereas Boss will get grumpy if she walks near him when he’s lying down. For Boss, here’s what I would get him as gifts: A long walk on a state park path where he can sniff as much as he wants. Sniffing to dogs is like crack to humans, but good for them with no side effects (except that it tires them out). Sniffing things is his favorite thing and he enjoys personal time.
He is a very simple boy who doesn’t care for material things and more enjoys going out and doing things. Another thing that we plan on doing with him is to take him camping. This gift guide for pets has products we’ve got our pups that are also really helpful during any trip or just around the house.
1. A Good Collar
We got them both these collars, blue for him and pink for her and we couldn’t be happier with them. They’re strong, reflective, comfortable and fashionable.
2. A Comfy Bed
Here’s a dog bed they enjoy when they’re not laying on the couch. It’s got a removable washable cover to make cleaning easy and it’s nice and plush for whatever weight your pup is.
3. Durable Dog Chew Toy
Pepper likes chewing things up, so I like this squeak toy set from amazon that provides 18 toys for her to chew up. If you want something that won’t leave as much of a mess everywhere, here’s a chew ring for aggressive chewers. We had something like this for Pepper and she enjoyed it for months.
4. Yummy treats
Pepper is very treat-motivated so here’s a cost-effective bag of training treats, and she’s smart enough to learn and enjoy some training. She enjoys personal time too, but not the same as Boss, so her personal time would be training her and giving her treats.
5. Slow Feeder
We got her this slow feeder because she would eat so fast she would make herself sick. Now she still guzzles down food as fast as she can but we don’t have to worry about her.
6. Multi-Purpose Cleaner
Here are two gits for YOU, because you have a dog. A simple lint roller and a carpet/upholstery cleaner. We’ve used both of them, and they do a great job of cleaning up after our dogs.
Boss and Pepper are both amazing, but in their special ways, so they deserve gifts tailored to them, just as your pet deserves. I hope this gift guide for pets helps you out. You know your companion best, what would make them the happiest?
