Best Shows to Watch this Fall
Looking forward to colder weather, falling leaves, and cuddling on the couch, curled up ready to watch something, but don’t know what to watch? Here’s a list of the best shows I like, and you might too! Some are older, some are newer, but all of them are worth checking out!
Supernatural
(2005-2020) 15 seasons
Starting off with more of an oldie, Supernatural is about 2 brothers that work together to fight paranormal and other supernatural beings. Lots of drama, action, and plenty of cliche moments, this show is actually what my husband and I are watching right now. And with 15 seasons, you’ll have your hands full for a while getting through all these episodes!
Black mirror
(2011-Current) 6 seasons
With every episode a new story, there’s no worry about putting this show down for a while and picking it right back up. Every episode is dystopian in nature, but all with a different way of going about that. This thought-provoking show will keep you thinking and keep you interested.
Love, Death & Robots
(2019-Current) 3 seasons
Much like Black Mirror, Love, Death & Robots has a different story every episode. However this series explores all different types of genres, like fantasy, horror, fiction etc. Also the animation style is different every episode, and they’re all so cool, which is what makes this one of the best shows in my opinion. Some episodes are 20 minutes long, some only around 10, so although this series won’t take you too long to finish, it will be a blast to watch.
Parks and Recreation
(2009-2015) 7 Seasons
Much like The Office, Parks and Recreation is a sitcom that focuses on the mundane of everyday life. But instead of a paper company, they work for a small town government. Very funny series and Chris Pratt does an excellent job at making the audience laugh!
The Terminal list
(2022- Current) 1 season
This time Chris Pratt takes the lead as a Navy Seal officer who gets betrayed; his friends and family murdered. While slowly dying from a brain Tumor, can he solve the case of who killed his family? Based on a book written by a former navy seal, who also was on set giving advice to make it as realistic as possible, this show became one of my favorites after just the first episode. Even though there’s only one season out, I definitely recommend giving this a watch.
Arcane
(2021-Current) 1 season
With an incredible and unique animation style, Arcane is a phenomenal show about family, power, and doing evil through the desire to do good. Based on the game League of Legends, this show has everything. Amazing voice acting, action, death, personal growth are all things that drove me to add this to the list. Check it out even if you’re not into animated shows, you may be surprised. I was amazed on how much I liked it after my husband convinced me to give it a try!
The Boys
(2019-Current) 3 seasons
The Boys is a crazy show that answers the question almost everyone has had, “What if normal people got superpowers? They wouldn’t all be good”. Lots of violence, plot twists all around, and incredible writing makes this a must-watch. Just don’t watch it with your kids.
House
(2004-2012) 8 seasons
A genius doctor who’s addicted to painkillers and being a smartass is what House is all about. The main character is not a great person, but you can help but love him despite all his flaws. Watch him and his fellow doctors figure out every conundrum that comes through their doors.
Stranger Things
(2016-Current) 4 seasons
If you like supernatural stuff, check out Stranger Things! Everyone’s heard of it, you’ve probably been bombarded with memes every time a new season comes out. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a reason for all the hype and you should check it out.
Money Heist
(2017-Current) 5 seasons
A mind-bending, high-stakes thrill ride. A meticulously planned heist, colorful characters with catchy names, and the brilliant professor orchestrating it all. It’s a rollercoaster of twists and heart-pounding moments. Once you’re in, you’re in for an adrenaline-packed binge.
Big Bang Theory
(2007-2019) 12 seasons
Ever want to sit around and watch a bunch of nerds acting like a bunch of nerds? Big Bang Theory will have you in a perpetual state of chuckling or laughing. Constant quips, socially inept character, and personalities that you won’t find anywhere else. When it comes to comedy, this is one of the best shows you’ll find!
Last of Us
(2023-Current) 1 season
If you’ve never played the game on which this show is based, you’ll love it. A post-apocalyptic world with zombies, action, character growth and a sassy teenager. Only one season has been released, but with an ending like no other, it’s worth checking out.
Game of Thrones
(2011-2019) 8 seasons
Enter into a fantasy world of power and politics. Dragons soar, thrones clash, and alliances crumble. Lots of action, violence and magic. By its ending, Game of Thrones was averaging over 40 million viewers per episode. If that many people enjoyed it, there’s a good chance you will too.
Walking Dead
(2010-2022) 11 seasons
This show has everything; action, gore, drama, dynamic character development, and an extremely long running story so you can binge it for quite a while. The Walking Dead has tons of great characters, and it puts focus on all of them. But be warned, don’t get too attached to any of them. I think this is also one of the best shows because there are already two spinoffs (Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon), with a third coming out (The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live). If you like this show, you’ve got plenty of content for a long time.
Reacher
(2022-Current) 1 season
Although the main character may not have too much of an emotional range, the show itself sure does. Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson uses his supreme intellect and deductive reasoning to solve a murder, and he uses his impressive strength and size to knock down anyone that stands in his way. There’s only one season out at the time of writing this, so if you’re looking for something you can watch in one weekend, try out Reacher! Entertaining, fast paced and a tasteful amount of drama made this one of the best shows to watch in Amazon Prime.
Whether you prefer sitcoms like “Parks and Recreation” or intense dramas like “The Terminal List,” the options are endless. And if you’re in the mood for animated brilliance, “Arcane” will leave you spellbound. So grab a blanket, cozy up on the couch, let these incredible series transport you to worlds beyond your imagination and let me know which one you like best. Happy watching!
