Living Room Mood Board

With the recent mood board I did for the kitchen, I realized how much I enjoy designing spaces and shopping for my house. So I’ve decided to make a mood board for every room of my house, including the living room of course. And hopefully every month I can tackle a little project related to decoration or painting, nothing crazy!

The living room is pretty much the same since we moved, except for I bunch of decorations that I added through time trying to make the space feel like me, my style. First, I added some IKEA mirrors, then a gallery and some floating shelves. And later some decor like candles and a vase with some faux flowers to make it feel cozy and welcoming. I’ve always been against plain white houses with empty walls and no pictures.

I’ve also been meaning to paint the whole room and trim with some nice paint and then paint the side door black. But honestly, the room is too big with tall ceilings so I’ve been postponing it, dreaming maybe one of these days I can pay someone to do this instead of doing it myself. But that day hasn’t come yet.

When we got the house it was mostly furnished, so even if it wasn’t my style I was okay with it, it was beatifull to start with and I only had a small budget to decorate it. I added really good pieces that we have loved all this time and they have worked so far. So this is my solution for updating the living room and making it more modern, also my husband accidentally broke one of the couches so we are due for a little makeover!

the base

The first thing I want to update is the couch, I already had this amazing rug that I bought last year on Prime Day, I also want to swap the side tables and a really necessary round coffee table for our future kid (yes I’m due in January) and current crazy dogs who get the zoomies around this rectangular table with really sharp corners!

the finishing touches

I always see people asking for advice on how to improve a room that honestly is beautiful but just needs styling. They usually have great bones and good pieces like furniture but they need to add warmth, life, and coziness with things like plants, a good vase, greenery, or some lamps too! I am bringing life with some details and patterns like pillows, and these beautiful ottomans.
