Things to Do In Boston

Boston it’s a great place to visit any time of the year. It has a lot of history and it’s beautiful too. I went in winter, it was so pretty and full of Christmas decorations. Although I only stayed for almost three days because after that I had to go to New York but it was perfect for a long weekend!

I took an Amtrak train from Union Station in Washington D.C to Boston. After a couple days I took a bus from Boston to NY and I arrived at the Greyhound Bus Terminal. My budget for the day was $50 USD. Honestly I was walking a lot, but sometimes I used the metro or Uber to certain places. But you should definitely check the public transport. It was a great option for me because I just wanted to wander the streets and enter any place when I felt like it.

I stayed in this Airbnb because it was close to most of the places I wanted to visit. It’s also really close to a metro station, so it was perfect. I also found some things to do visiting their gov site. Here you can find  information on activities and events!

On my first day I visited Boston Public Market because it was 20 minutes from my location. From there I headed to Boston Common and Boston Public Garden. Later that same day I checked out North End (little italy) and stopped by Quincy Market. Only 4 minutes walking! So close! Let’s keep in mind that I visited in winter, really close to Christmas. Because of that, I got up early in the morning and I did most of my activities during the day. Because after dinner it was just too cold for me to be walking around.

Make sure to visit Regina Pizza or Galleria Umberto, these are great places to stop for some food if you are in the area. Also as soon as I arrived I realized there was a neighborhood full of Colombian restaurants super near from the place I was staying, so I was therefore in heaven. Then I walked for less than 10 minutes to see the Waterfront.

The next day I took the metro to Harvard University (around 40 minutes) and from there I went to the Museum of Fine Arts (30 minutes in metro). Later that day I walked around the Freedom Trail and Beacon Hill, one of Boston’s most beautiful areas. Chinatown and New England Aquarium were in the area too so I had a lot of fun just seeing new things.

If you have time, Piers Park is also a great place to visit! There’s so much to do and see in Boston around winter time. This place is known mainly for the sports and its colonial history. See all the holiday lights, go ice skating, visit the holiday markets or visit a museum, but whatever you do make sure to have a blast and go crazy!
